Inquiry based learning is the seeking of information and knowledge by students, actually useful and applicable knowledge. Mainly can be described as turning the information found to useful knowledge can be shared with others and used in life.
It starts with questions need to be answered. followed by analyzing the data gathered, to make the learners more involving with the curriculum content. Teachers give the chance to students to answer their questions, relate their experience of multiples (Team work) plus searching to answers through library books or Internet or interviewing, it is a type of student centered learning.
Teacher action is to instruct the students to stay in the path, give feedback to what they prepared, help them to be investigators and analyzers starting from good planning.
Next action from the student side is to make the information gathered, filtered and analyzed to meaningful knowledge. Recording the knowledge found in different ways - lists, graphs, graphics, movies, notes. The knowledge recorded can be viewed in many formats, documents presentations and spreadsheets.
Finally the knowledge acquired can be shared to others, take part of our life to implement and the cycle goes on as there are new questions need further investigation.
